Housing Benefit and Universal Credit in the Social Housing Sector (Regular Payments) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill aims to ensure that Housing Benefit and Universal Credit payments for people in social housing are paid on a regular, fixed schedule each month. Currently, payment dates can be unpredictable, which makes it harder for tenants to manage their money and pay rent reliably. The bill would standardize these payment dates to help reduce rent arrears and financial stress for social housing tenants.

Presented by Ian Lavery.
