House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) (Abolition of By-Elections) (No. 2) Bill

This bill would stop the practice of holding byelections to replace hereditary peers in the House of Lords when they leave. Currently, when a hereditary peer dies or retires, other hereditary peers vote to elect someone to take their place. This bill would end that process, meaning seats would stay empty.
