Horticultural Peat (Prohibition of Sale) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill would make it illegal to sell peat for use in gardening and horticulture across the UK. Peat is currently dug from natural wetlands, which damages wildlife habitats and releases carbon into the atmosphere, so the bill aims to protect the environment by forcing people to use alternative growing materials instead.
Presented by Theresa Villiers.
