Home Education (Duty of Local Authorities) Bill [HL]

This bill would legally require local councils to keep a register of homeeducated children and regularly check that they are receiving suitable education. Currently, parents can homeeducate their children with less formal oversight, but this bill would give councils a clear responsibility to monitor home education in their area.
