Grenfell Tower Memorial (Expenditure) Act 2026
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
The Grenfell Tower Memorial (Expenditure) Bill authorises government spending to create and maintain a permanent memorial to the 72 people who died in the Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017. The bill provides financial provision for the design, construction, and ongoing upkeep of the memorial site. It removes previous parliamentary restrictions on spending related to Grenfell memorialisation, allowing the government to commit public funds without seeking approval for each individual expenditure. This represents formal parliamentary recognition of the tragedy and commitment to honouring the victims.
