The Freight Crime Bill strengthens law enforcement powers to combat theft, robbery, and organised crime targeting goods in transit across the UK. It introduces new offences specifically targeting freight crime, increases maximum prison sentences for related crimes, and gives police enhanced stopandsearch powers and surveillance capabilities. The bill also establishes a national freight crime unit and requires better informationsharing between transport companies, police, and border agencies to disrupt criminal supply chains.
