Fraud (Trials Without a Jury) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill would allow some serious fraud cases to be tried by a judge without a jury, instead of the traditional system where 12 ordinary people decide if someone is guilty. The government says this helps with very complex fraud cases that are difficult for juries to understand, but critics say it removes an important protection for defendants.

Presented by John Reid
supported by Lord Goldsmith.
