European Union (Withdrawal Arrangements) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill provides the legal framework for the UK to leave the European Union under the withdrawal agreement negotiated between the UK government and the EU. It implements the agreement that was finalized in October 2019, which includes a transition period (now ended) during which UKEU relations would be governed by existing EU law. The bill ratifies the withdrawal agreement in UK law, establishes the legal mechanisms for the transition, and creates provisions for the UKEU relationship after this period ends. Essentially, it makes the negotiated Brexit deal enforceable under British law.

Presented by Jim Allister.
